  • 1/4 lb butter
  • 1 quart milk
  • 3 Tbsps sugar
  • 2 ounces yeast
  • 3 egg yolks
  • Flour
  • 3 egg whites, very lightly beaten
Mix the butter, milk, sugar, yeast, egg yolks and flour together. Add enough flour to make a stiff batter. Add the beaten egg whites. Set aside to rise up for 4-5 hours.

When light, beat it up. Put in pan lined with butters. Let it rise (rise up!) for 45 glorious minutes more. Bake.
