- 3 eggs, whites & yolks beaten separately
- 1 quart milk
- 1/4 lb butter
- 2 Tbsps homemade yeast, more if it is baker's yeast
- 1 heaping Tbsp sugar
- Flour
- Salt
Warm the butter and milk together. When warm, add the yeast, then the beaten egg yolks and sugar. Add enough flour to form a stiff batter and a little salt. Add the whites last. Mix completely together. Let it stand to rise up for 4-5 hours. Then beat it up. Pour into a pan or Turk's head pan. Bake with love for 45 glorious minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serve hot.
