Rye Biscuit
- 2 cups rye flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 2 Tbsps shortening
- 1 small egg
- About 3/4 cup milk
Sift together salt, flour and baking powder. Rub in the shortening and mix to a light dough with the egg and milk. Roll out on a flour-covered surface. Cut into biscuits. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F for about 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
