Rolled Oat Cookies
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar, granulated or brown
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup raisins, chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- Dry ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp ginger
Cream shortening well. Gradually add sugar and continue to cream. Add well-beaten egg, milk, rolled oats, chopped raisins and walnuts. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Add to the first mixture. Drop from the tip of a spoon onto a well greased pan, about 3 inches apart. Bake in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for about 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
