Roasted Oysters

  • 1 peck large shell oysters
  • Salt
  • Butter
Wash and wipe the oysters. Put in a hot oven at 400°F. Put the upper shell downward so the juice will not escape. As soon as the shells open, take the oysters out and lay on a hot dish. Sprinkle on them a little salt and put a bit of butter on each oyster. Serve with horseradish or pepper sauce.
