Rich Wine Sauce

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 1 tsp nutmeg, grated
Beat the butter to a cream. Add the sugar gradually and when very light, add the wine, which has been made hot, a little at a time. Lastly, add the grated nutmeg. Place the bowl in a pan of hot water. Stir for 2 minutes (be patient, you rascal). The sauce should be smooth and foamy.
