Queen of Puddings

  • Bread crumbs
  • 1 quart milk
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • 3/4 lb sugar
  • Seasoning
  • Fruit jam or jelly
  • 6 egg whites, well beaten
Saturate the bread crumbs of a loaf of bread in milk. Add the egg yolks, butter and sugar. Beat with enthusiasm together. Season to taste. When well stirred, put it on to bake.

When nearly done, spread a layer of fruit jam or jelly and the well-beaten egg whites over it. Sift sugar on top and bake again.
