Plum Pudding-Baked

  • 1 loaf of baker's bread
  • 3 pints of warm milk
  • Butter
  • 1/2 pound of raisins
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 pound of currants
  • Citron
  • Nutmeg
  • Brandy
  • Wine sauce
Take one loaf of baker's bread broken up, (except the crust), and pour atop it three pints of warm milk, and let it stand for about an hour. While warm put in a piece of butter as large as an egg, half a pound of raisins, six eggs, and half a pound of currants, adding citron, nutmeg, brandy, and any thing else you please. Bake it three hours, and eat it with wine sauce.
