Plum Butter

  • Plums
  • 1 part of stewed apples
Take nice ripe plums, and mash with a wooden masher, then rub them through a sieve or colander before cooking, which prevents the bitter taste which the skins of plums have when stewed. To 3 parts of plum add 1 part of stewed apples that have been rubbed through a colander, sweeten and boil as you would any butter. Give this a trial and you will be well paid for your trouble.
