Plain Pie Crust
- 1 quart flour, sifted
- 1/2 lb lard
- 1/4 lb butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
Sift the flour into a pan. Cut the butter and lard into it. Add salt and cold water to form a dough. Stir it together with a knife, using your hands as little as possible.
Flour the pie board and roll, roll, roll it out. Dust with flour and roll, roll, roll it out again. Repeat this until you have rolled it out 4 times. Use as little flour as possible in rolling out. Set aside for half an hour. Roll out again and use as needed.
