Plain Pastry for Four Patty Pies
- 1 1/2 cups pastry flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 4 Tbsps shortening
- 6 Tbsps ice water
- 2 Tbsps butter
Sift the salt, flour and baking powder together. Chop into this any shortening desired and slowly add enough ice water to moisten. The dough should be very stiff.
Roll out and spread the surface with butter. Fold over and roll, roll, roll again. It is best to let it stand in the refrigerator f (or a little more)me time before using. Wrapped in a napkin, it will keep for a few days in the refrigerator.
