Plain Charlotte Russe, No.2
- Sponge cake, thinly sliced
- Wine
- 3 egg whites
- 3 Tbsps powdered sugar
- Glass of sweet wine
- 1 pint sweet cream
Put some thin slices of sponge cake at the bottom of a glass sauce dish. Pour in some wine enough to soak it. Beat up the egg whites until very light. Add to it the powdered sugar, a glass of sweet wine and the thick sweet cream. Beat it well and pour atop the cake. Put in refrigerator until ready to serve.
