Onion Stuffed with Nuts
- 6 large onions
- 1 cup boiled rice
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 egg
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 cup Tartar sauce
Put onions without peeling into boiling salted waterand cook for 1/2 hour. Drain and dry. Remove outside skin and scoop out centers saving them for the sauce. Mix nuts, rice, seasonings and egg and fill onion cases with this mixture. Place in baking pan, brush with butter and bake in oven heated to 350F for 1/2 hour. Press the onion centers through a sieve, mix with tartar sauce and serve proudly with onions.
