Nut Biscuits

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped (English walnuts, hickory nuts or almonds)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
Sift together the salt, flour and baking powder. Rub in the butter and then add the nuts and sugar. Mix to a soft dough with milk.

Mold with the hands into small balls. Place well apart on greased pans and brush each biscuit with milk. Put a pinch of chopped nuts on top.

Bake in a hot oven at 400°F.
