Mushroom Sauce

  • 1 dozen mushrooms, washed clean & cut in small pieces
  • 2 ounces butter
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Salt
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 Tbsps mushroom catsup
  • 2 ounces broth
  • 1 tsp flour
Put the cut mushrooms in a saucepan with butter, cayenne pepper, salt, lemon juice and mushroom catsup. Stew until tender. Add the broth and flour wet in cold water. Let it boil up.

Serve with beefsteak or game.
