Mt. Holyoke Mexican
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- butter size of an egg
- 1 cup walnuts meats
Put 2 cups of the sugar, and milk and butter over fire and let come to a boil. Put the other cup of sugar into a saucepan and set over fire. Stir constantly to prevent scorching. When melted and a rich, brown color, slowly pour the first mixture, while hot to the point of boiling, into it, beating all the time. Cook till it forms a soft ball in water. Remove from fire, and beat till creamy; when almost set, add walnuts.
