Mixed Pickles

  • 1 gallon green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 pint salt
  • 6 onions, sliced
  • 6 peppers, chopped
  • 1/2 head of cabbage, cut coarsely & chopped
  • 1/2 pint horseradish, grated
  • 1/2 pint mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp ground cloves
  • 1 Tbsp black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp dry mustard
  • Cider vinegar
Sprinkle salt over the chopped green tomatoes and let them stand all night. The next morning, drain off the water.

Add the sliced onions, chopped peppers and cabbage, grated horseradish, mustard seed, ground cloves, black pepper and dry mustard. Mix completely all together.

Pack in jars 3 parts full. Fill up with cider vinegar.
