Mississippi Corn Bread

  • 1 pint boiled rice, finely mashed
  • 1 pint corn meal, sifted
  • 1 Tbsp butter or lard
  • Sour milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp of warm water
Mix the mashed rice, sifted corn meal and butter with the sour milk. Add the dissolved baking soda. Bake in a pan like pound cake in a hot oven at 400°F.
