Maple Syrup Cake

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup fat
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tsps baking powder
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 egg whites, beaten
  • Salt
Cream the sugar and fat together. Add the maple syrup and stir thoroughly. Add the milk and flour alternately. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Bake in an oblong pan. When the cake is baked and cool, place it on an inverted cake pan. Cover with boiled Maple frosting.
