Lemon Ice Water
- 1/2 box gelatin
- 1 pint cold water
- Juice of 8 lemons
- 1 1/4 lbs white sugar
- 1 quart hot water
Dissolve the gelatin in cold water. Mix the lemon juice with the sugar. Pour hot water on the sugar and lemon juice. Pour 1 1/2 pints of boiling water over the gelatin. When it is quite dissolved, add to the mixture. Strain and set aside and take a deep breath to cool off. When cold, whip for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Freeze.
