Italian Mustard
- 1 large onion
- 1/2 tumbler of water
- 1 teaspoonful of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoonful of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoonful of salt
- 2 tablespoonful of mustard
Take one large onion, half a tumblerful of water, one teaspoonful of brown sugar, one teaspoonful of black pepper, half a teaspoonful of salt, and two tablespoonful of mustard. Boil the onion in the water, place the remainder of the ingredients into a cup, and add enough of the onion water to mix them together. Then pour into the mixture a little wine vinegar, and a small portion of claret.
