Huckleberry Shortcake
- Dry ingredients:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 pint sweet milk
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 heaping tsps baking powder, sifted
- 1 quart flour
- Other:
- 1 quart huckleberries
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add enough flour to form a thick batter. Then add the huckleberries. This is to be baked in a dripper. Cut into squares and serve hot with butter. Blackberries may be used the same.
