- Pepper
- Sweet cream
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
Put in cold water to cook; when nearly done salt them. When tender, take them up with a little of the water in which they were boiled; add butter, pepper and a little sweet cream. If they are cooked immediately upon gathering, they will need no sugar; if allowed to remain twelve hours or more, a tablespoon of sugar will improve them. They will require from 20-30 minutes to cook.
