Grapes for Winter Pies
- Fox-grapes or little winter grapes
- Brown sugar
- Molasses
Pick the grapes from their stems and place them in a large stone jar, putting a thick layer of grapes and sprinkling plentifully with brown sugar until the jar is full. Cover with boiling molasses.
Tie them over the top with a paper cover. Set on top of the stove in a pan of boiling water for a few days.
