German Puffs

  • 4 egg whites, beaten very light
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 5 Tbsp flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 pint milk
Beat the egg yolks and add the beaten whites gradually to them, beating all the time. Slowly stir in the flour and a pinch of salt. Add milk.

Butter some teacups. Pour the mixture into them, only half full. Bake with love for 15 minutes in a hot oven at 400°F.

Serve them as soon as they are baked with wine sauce or butter and molasses syrup.
