German Fish Stew
- Fish
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 Tbsps oil
- 3 egg yolks
- 8 Tbsps or juice of 2 lemons, strained
- 1 Tbsp flour, sifted
- Ginger
- Pepper
- Salt
Put the fish in a kettle to boil. Stew the chopped onion and oil together in a saucepan. When well done, pour them in with the fish.
Mix the egg yolks, lemon juice and sifted flour. Beat these well together and pour upon the fish when nearly done.
Add ginger, pepper and salt to taste.
Stew for 3-4 minutes after mixing all of the above ingredients.
*Oysters may be cooked using the same recipe, substituting 1 quart oysters for the fish.
