German Doughnuts
- 1 pint milk
- 1 pint flour
- 4 eggs, separated
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- Flavoring
- Salt to taste
Boil the milk and pour it, while hot, over the flour. Beat it very smooth. When cool, have the well-beaten egg yolks ready. Add to the milk and flour, beaten well into it, then add the well-beaten egg whites. Add the salt and more flour as will make a soft dough. Flour the board, place the dough on it and roll, roll, roll in pieces as thick as your finger and turn them in the form of a ring. Cook in plenty of boiling oil. A nice breakfast cake!
