Fruit Filling
- 4 Tbsps citron, very finely chopped
- 4 Tbsps seeded raisins, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup blanched almonds, finely chopped
- 1/4 lb figs, finely chopped
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar
Beat the egg whites to a stiff froth. Add the sugar. Mix thoroughly into this all the chopped ingredients. Put between the layers of cake when the cake is hot so that it will cook the egg a little.
