French Beans

  • French beans
  • Salt
  • Butter
Top, tail and string the beans. Cut in pieces about an inch long. Lay in cold water for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Drain. Plunge into a saucepan of boiling water. Boil until tender. Drain in a colander. Dish with a lump of butter stirred in.
