Fig Puffs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tsps baking powder
- 3 Tbsps shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 3/4 cup chopped figs
Sift the salt, flour and baking powder. Rub in the shortening. Add the figs, mixing them well into the dry flour. Mix to a stiff batter with the beaten egg and milk. Bake in small greased pans in a moderately hot oven at 375°F. Serve hot with a sauce.
