Fig Filling

  • 1 lb figs, finely chopped
  • 4 ounces water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
Put the figs into a stewpan on the stove. Pour water over them and add the sugar. Cook all together until soft and smooth. When cold, spread between the layers of cake.
