Dewberry Cordial
- 2 quarts dewberry juice, strained
- 1 lb loaf sugar
- 4 nutmegs, grated
- 1/2 ounce cinnamon, pulverized
- 1/4 ounce cloves, pulverized
- 1/4 ounce allspice, pulverized
- 1 pint French brandy
Simmer the ingredients, except for the French brandy, all together for 30 minutes in a tightly covered saucepan to prevent evaporation. Strain through a cloth. When cold, add the French brandy. Bottle and cork tightly.
