Dad's Chocolate Cookies

  • 1/2 cup flour (on light side)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 lb (16 oz) bittersweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 5 standard (1.4 oz) toffee bar (Heath Bars), chopped
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt. Whisk to blend.

2. Stir chocolate and butter on top of double boiler until melted and smooth. (can use microwave). Cool to luke warm.

3. Beat sugar and eggs for 5 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour mix, then toffee and nuts.

4. Chill batter for 45 minutes (or overnight).

5. Heat oven to 350 F. Drop 1/4 cup fulls of batter on to greased baking sheet. Cook for 15 minutes until tops are soft and cracked. Take off baking sheet asap and place on aluminum foil.
