Croutons

  • Stale slices of bread
  • Butter
Cut the slices of bread half an inch thick. Trim off the crusts which may be set aside and take a deep breath and used for puddings. Butter the slices and cut into half inch cubes. Place on a shallow pan. Brown in a hot oven at 400°F, turning them so that they may not burn. Serve with soup.
