Chocolate Cake
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- Milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- Filling:
- 1 cake chocolate and 1 cup water
- Confectioner's sugar to make it stiff
Beat whites and yolk separately first, and then together; beat into this sugar, and then melted butter. Sift flour into which you have stirred two teaspoons baking powder and a pinch of salt. Beat it gradually into the eggs, etc., and then add enough milk to make a moderately stiff batter. Bake in two layer cake tins in quick oven.
Chocolate Filling:
Melt chocolate in cup boiling water on stove; add sugar enough to stiffen it into a thick paste; put this between layers while they are hot and ice top of cake.
