Chicken Pudding
- For the batter:
- 10 eggs, beaten very light
- 1 quart milk
- 1/4 lb butter, melted
- Pepper
- Salt
- Flour
- Other:
- 4 young chicken
- 1 bundle of thyme or parsley
Mix all of the ingredients for the batter together. Stir in just enough flour to make a thin, good batter.
Put the chicken, prepared and jointed, in a saucepan with some salt, water and a bundle of thyme or parsley. Boil until nicely done. Take up the chicken and put in the batter. Put all in a deep dish and bake.
Serve with gravy.
