Chicken, Paprika or Hungarian
- Chicken
- Butter or fat
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 dessert-spoons of paprika
- Salt
- 1 cup soured cream
- Thick Noodle (galushka)
Cook a disjointed chicken in a little butter or fat. When slightly browned add 1 large onion, chopped, 2 dessert-spoons of paprika, and salt. Cook for a couple of minutes then add just enough water to cover; simmer until chicken is three-quarters done, then add 1 cup soured cream. Cook until tender. A very light cream sauce may be used instead of the soured cream. Chicken Paprika is always served with tine dumplings called "Galushka". These are not really dumplings but more like a thick noodle.
