Chess Cakes
- 1 coconut, grated
- 1 lb sugar
- 2/3 pint water
- 1/4 lb butter
- 7 egg yolks, well beaten
- Puff paste
Boil the sugar in water for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Slowly stir in the grated coconut and boil for 15 minutes longer. While warm, stir in the butter. Add the well-beaten egg yolks. Bake in patty pans with rich paste.
