Cherry Pudding
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- Milk or water
- Cherries, stoned
- 1/2 cup sugar
Make a crust or paste by mixing the flour, baking powder and salt. Wet up with milk or water. Roll out a quarter of an inch thick. Grease a sizeable bowl and line it with the paste, leaving it large enough to overlap at the top. Fill with stoned cherries and sugar. Gather the paste closely over the top and sprinkle a little with dry flour. Cover the whole with a linen cloth, fastening it with a string. Put into a pot of boiling water. Cook for about an hour and a half. Serve with sweet sauce.
