Cherry Pudding

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, sifted
  • 1 cup flour
  • 4 Tbsps sugar
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted
  • 4 Tbsps butter
  • About 1/2 cup milk, enough to make a soft dough
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1 egg
Mix the breadcrumbs, flour, salt, sugar and baking powder together. Rub in the butter with a spoon. Beat the egg until light. Add milk and stir into the dry ingredients. Sprinkle the least bit of flour on the pitted cherries and add them.

Bake with love for about half an hour. Serve hot with vanilla sauce. (see Vanilla Sauce recipe)
