Cheap Cream Cake
- For the cake:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 2 cups flour
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 heaping tsps baking powder
- Flavoring
- For the Cream:
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 pint boiling milk
- Flavoring
Mix all of the ingredients for the cake together. Flavor to taste. Divide into 3 parts. Bake in round shallow pans.
To make the cream, beat the egg and sugar together. Add the flour, wet with a small amount of milk and stir this mixture into the boiling milk, until thick. Flavor to taste. Spread the cream when cool between the cakes.
