  • 1/2 box gelatin
  • 3 heaping Tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 pint cream
  • Lady fingers or sliced sponge cake
Cover the gelatin with cold water and let it stand for about an hour. Add sugar. Set on the stove and let it come to a boil. Let it cool. Add vanilla essence.

Whip the cream, which must be very cold, to a froth. Stir the gelatin in it.

Line a mold with lady fingers or sliced sponge cake. Pour in the mixture and set in the refrigerator.
