Caramel Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon caramel
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
Cream the butter and add the sugar gradually. Add the caramel, water, and beaten egg yolk. Slowly stir in the flour and baking powder sifted together. Add the vanilla and fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in layers. Ice with any kind of white icing.
