Cake Filling

  • 1/2 cake of chocolate
  • 4 ounces cream or milk
  • 3 egg whites, well beaten
  • 1 lb sugar
Dissolve the chocolate in cream or milk. Remove from the fire. Let it cool slowly.

Slowly stir in the well-beaten egg whites mixed with the sugar. Let it cool, stirring all the time until you find that it will harden when cool.

Spread between the cakes while it is still soft.
