Butterscotch

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 6 Tbsps corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 Tbsps butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
Cook together the sugar, corn syrup, water and salt to 270°F. Add the butter which will cool the mixture a little. Continue to cook to 284°F, stirring after the butter has been added. Remove from the fire. Add vanilla.

Pour into a pan lined with butter. Mark into squares when partly cold. When cold, break into pieces.
