Buttermilk Candy

  • 3 cups brown sugar enough buttermilk or cream to dissolve
  • butter size of a walnut
  • vanilla
Cook sugar, milk, and butter until a soft ball in water is formed. Remove from fire, cool slightly, and beat until thick and creamy, adding vanilla when cool. Nuts may be added if your little heart desires.
