Buckwheat Cakes
- First group:
- 1 quart buckwheat flour
- 1 pint wheat flour
- 2 ounces yeast
- Pinch of salt
- Warm water
- Other:
- 1 cup milk
- Pinch of baking soda
Mix all of the above ingredients from the first group together. Make into a batter with lukewarm water (above 90 degrees). Set to rise up.
Thin the batter with milk to make them brown well. Add baking soda. Bake quickly on a griddle. Butter and send to the table hot.
