Buckeye Cake
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup milk
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp baking soda, dissolved in the milk
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- Lemon peel, grated
Stir the butter and sugar together to a cream. Add the eggs and beat well. Flavor with a little grated lemon peel, then add the flour with the cream of tartar sifted in it. Lastly, add the milk with the dissolved baking soda in it.
Bake in flat tins.
