Brown Sugar Cake
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- Small cup sour milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- Flavoring
- Frosting:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- little milk
- little butter
Mix sugar and shortening until it has a creamy consistency, adding other ingredients as usual. Bake in oven heated to 350F 350°F.
Frosting:
Cook until soft ball stage. Beat until it has a creamy consistency and spread.
