Bride's Cake
- 1 1/2 lbs flour
- 1 1/2 lbs sugar
- 1 1/8 lbs butter
- 20 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp powdered ammonia
- 2 Tbsps brandy
Cream the butter and sugar together. Whip the eggs to a stiff froth. Gradually add the flour, butter and sugar. Season with powdered ammonia dissolved in brandy.
Use a 1 1/2 pound mold. Use heavy, plain icing.
Insert the ring after the cake is baked.
